Geggs looking for Animal Magic
Thursday, 4th Apr 2013"Bring every man and their dog, bring their hamster if they want, just as long as they pay to get in!
Despite scoring twice in derbies against Raith Rovers this season, Andy Geggan feels that Saturday's game against Hamilton Accies is the biggest match of the season. He is hoping that everybody who can gets along to East End Park on Saturday and is not bothered too much if it needs a Pets Corner:-
"We might lose points through a deduction so we need points and we need to win. Hamilton have lost their manager so hopefully that works in our favour but this Club does need the fans. Our fans have been great all season but they need to pull together, go forward and don't even think about the past. Bring every man and their dog, bring their hamster if they want, just as long as they pay to get in!"
Andy was in the centre stand at Livingston last Saturday sitting out the game through injury but he was well placed to admire the very vocal travelling support at the Blairwood Motor Company Stadium. "They were shouting and bawling, it was like going to Parkhead where the crowd is that extra man."
Since the departure last week of seven of his first team colleagues as a consequence of the cuts inflicted by the Club's Interim Administrator, Andy has missed the personalities who are no longer part of his working life:-
"It has been very strange, very different. Watching your mates leaving is absolutely horrible. Now we have inexperienced young boys, we still have a laugh and things like that but you miss the guys like Jordan McMillan who would come in and get the team going straight away."
The situation that the Club finds itself in is giving young boys a good chance that for most has come much faster than expected. Andy Geggan, Stephen Husband, Ryan Thomson and Josh Falkingham now find themselves responsible for giving their all between now and the end of the season to make sure this blend of youth matures quick enough to handle First Division football. He ended:- "We need to keep the team together and keep the team morale going."
So if the team decides to be more man than mouse, best advice is to keep your hamsters at home, buy them a ticket and show them their support..
