Dunfermline Athletic have received further pledges of support from its Former Players Association and some key local business people.
Club legend, 1968 Scottish Cup winning captain and Chair of the Former Players Association, Roy Barry outlined why he thought it was important for everyone to get behind Dunfermline Athletic as the Club prepares for the launch of the Share Issue:
"We are prepared to do anything to help the club move forward and get out of the situation it has found itself in. We have been involved in a wide number of fundraising activities from walks to dinners, and we will be represented at the upcoming Centenary Club lunch. This now seems to be the way forward for the club and that's why I'm here to provide our assistance and support."
Richard Dixon, Managing Director of 'Vets Now', expressed his support for the forthcoming Share Issue, explaining its significance to the local community:
"DAFC is a hugely important institution for a town such as Dunfermline and having a strong and viable club at its heart is something the entire local community should passionately support. Not least, the work DAFC do to support the local youngsters through the DAFC Community Programme is truly phenomenal, supporting more than 750 local children every single week. We would urge the entire local community to get behind the club and its forthcoming share issue at this challenging time, and support the clubs with a single positive voice, helping ensure a strong football club and community resource for many years into the future."
Alex Mill Director of Premier Services added "Premier Services are proud to have been sponsors and supporters of Gavin and his team at DAFC for a number of years and we look forward to helping in anyway we can to ensure Gavin and his team steer us thorough this difficult time. We would encourage all supporters and other local businesses to get behind the Pars."
These views were further supported by William Braisby Managing Director of Braisby's Roofing Ltd - "Having been a supporter of Dunfermline Athletic Football Club for as long as I care to remember the importance of having a successful team in the town is paramount to daily life in Dunfermline. I believe now more than ever all businesses, supporters and individuals who share the love of our football club must pull together to ensure that not only present but future generations can enjoy our great club."
Our business currently sponsor the club ballboys and we look forward to continuing with this in future seasons along with any other help we can offer.
