Dargo disappointed with no points
Monday, 18th Feb 2013"It looked as though we were on top and thought that we were going to come away with a point.
Craig Dargo was unhappy Dunfermline lost in the end but also felt that the park played its part in it.
"It looked as though we were on top and thought that we were going to come away with a point. To lose the three points was disappointing.
"Falkirk usually have one of the best parks to play on. This is the worst I have seen it but both teams have to play on it but it is not easy to get the ball down and play. Obviously that is going to affect Falkirk because they like to get the ball down but we like to do that as well. I thought we battled very hard and competed well.
"The desire and determination was there for all to see but we are just disappointed that we got nothing out of the game, It was just one of those games that shows the rub of the green is not going our way at the moment. The shot that Alex Whittle hit and then deflected off me on to the post - if things are going your way they go in. If we can play that way every week we will pick up more points than we will lose."
The manner of the defeat with the winning goal coming with just three of the ninety remaining was similar to the late strike at East End Park on Boxing Day when the Bairns won by the only goal of the match. For the Pars support it was yet another body blow but the 35 year old striker felt that they would go home with a feeling that the team had at least competed in this local derby:-
"Hopefully the fans will understand because they have seen the performance and everything that the players have given. If you are a football fan you will look at the game and say that Dunfermline were a bit unlucky to come away with nothing from that game. Credit Falkirk they stuck at it took their chance when they got it, we had a few chances but never took them.
"I understand the disappointment for the fans but surely you have got to see how much the players are giving and the level of performance that we gave and see that we were unlucky."
Morton and Partick Thistle are the opponents in Dunfermline's next two games, both at East End Park and Craig was not yet ready to count out the possibility of promotion:-
""There are still plenty of games left. Falkirk is not an easy place to come, other teams will go there and lose points to them. If we can keep up performances like that, we will be there or thereabouts."
