for their Charity Football Match on April 14th at East End Park

DAFC's Pars in the Community team are delighted to announce Asda's Matchball sponsorship of their Charity Football Match on April 14th this year to raise funds for children's charities and the DAFC Community programme.

On Sunday 14th April, Pars in the Community's Charity Football Match will take place at East End Park, with all funds raised going to CHAS, Aberlour Children's Charity, Tartan Army Children's Charity, Clic Sergent, Homestart and the DAFC Community Programme. This charity football match is part of Pars in the Community's ongoing involvement in the Kiltwalk sponsored walk which takes place on Easter Sunday and involves a 26 mile trek from Hampden Park to the shores of Loch Lomond.

Charity Football Match and Asda

Asda are sponsoring the matchball for the Charity Football match and the St Leonards store in Dunfermline also very generously gave the Kiltwalk team a bag packing day on 22nd December last year which raised £1000.

DAFC Community Coach and Kiltwalk Team Member, Gregor Tennant comments, "It's great that Asda has been able to support us in our fundraising as well as this upcoming charity event which we hope will benefit so many children and local families. At last year's Kiltwalk we raised over £5000 for children's charities and our own nominated charity, 'Home Start' which supports families and parents. We're hoping we can raise even more this year and that people will come on board and help make our Charity Football match a roaring success."

On the day of the match, each team will have five former big name professionals taking part, with the rest of the team being made up of any member of the public who wants to play! Those taking part need to make a minimum donation of £50 to the charities to secure their place in the team. Pros already confirmed include Pars legend Hamish French and Assistant Manager, Gerry McCabe.
