Fast goal rocks Sons
Sunday, 6th Jan 2013Striker Andy Barrowman doesn't know if he has ever scored as quick a goal as in 50 seconds against Dumbarton
Andy Barrowman's 12th goal of the season came just 50 seconds into the match against Dumbarton and it turned out to be the decisive goal. Andy was unaware how fast he had scored but revealed that it had come from his first touch of the match:-
"It was nice to come back into the team after missing out on Wednesday and getting off to a good start with that goal."
There were to be no more goals in the following 89 minutes and three of time added so the players were delighted to discover that had been enough to take Dunfermline to the top of the league. Andy continued:-
"It has been a great week for us, particularly good given the way the results went for us today. The division is so tight; it is a cut throat division as we all know and a week can do that - a couple of results can do that. We are thankful that its been a good day, it wasn't the best game but the three points mean that we can look forward to next week.
"We know ourselves that we have lost points in games that we should have won. It is easy to point to the off field problems but on a day to day basis there is no difference in the team. It wasn't ideal what happened but its done with now and we can focus on the football."
