Wallace eyes the incentive

Saturday, 29th Dec 2012

"The beauty of football is that there is always another game, the Morton game comes quickly and the boys will be delighted to try and get it back."

Ryan Wallace

The trip to Greenock on Saturday can't come fast enough for Pars striker Ryan Wallace. Hard to take was how he described Wednesday's defeat to Falkirk and he means to make up for it just as soon as possible:-

"At 0-0 and down to ten men we were very dominant in the second half. We had chances in the first half as well and the gaffer told us a couple of weeks ago that we need to start taking these chances but its just not falling for us at the moment.

"We were quite lucky that Morton beat Partick because if we beat Morton we will go back into second. That's the incentive."

Ryan knows that there is still a long way to go until May and every team will undoubtedly suffer injuries and suspensions that will affect results over the rest of the league campaign.

"We will just take every game as it comes. As we have already told everyone we are a young squad who are gelling together. We are taking every game as it comes and just enjoying it. The boys are always the same, everybody works their socks off but sometimes that is not good enough. A succour punch in the ninetieth minute means that you just have to take these things and learn from it."

The 22 year old striker believes that the Pars side can use the positives that were evident even when they were down to ten men.

"We moved the ball well, kept our shape well, just left Barra (Barrowman) upfront on his own and broke very quickly. It was working a treat until the last minute. The beauty of football is that there is always another game, the Morton game comes quickly and the boys will be delighted to try and get it back."
