Preview Morton
Thursday, 27th Dec 2012Saturday 29th
The last time Dunfermline played at Cappielow they took the three points that secured their promotion back to the SPL after a four season absence. Now both teams go into their 17th league match of the season with just two points separating them and both focussed on real promotion hopes. This situation has become even more interesting following Morton`s 2-1 win over leaders Partick Thistle. The Greenock side trailed by a Steven Craig goal but Martin Hardie and Scott Taggart hit back in the second half to take the three points.

In 82 league meetings Dunfermline have won almost half but its this Saturday that matters and the first match between the two, at East End Park in October looked to be heading the visitors way until a Stephen Husband penalty and a late Ryan Wallace strike saved a point.

Recent Form
Morton are unbeaten in their last eight matches. They have suffered only two league defeats all season - against Falkirk and Hamilton - and their last defeat was back on 10th November. In contrast the Pars form appears to have dipped and badly needs to get back on track. Dunfermline have failed to win in their last three games and have won just two of their last six games.
