Home support for Jordan
Thursday, 8th Nov 2012"Obviously we are going there to try and win the game but a draw wouldn't be a bad result for us either.
For Pars captain Jordan McMillan the match at Firhill is local for him and for that reason he expects the Dunfermline support to be swollen for Saturday's game by family and friends. They are not likely to be alone in being attracted to the north side of Glasgow by this top of the table clash either. Jordan describes the game as "massive" and is desperate to take something out of it, even a draw.
"We have come from two nil down in two of the last three games against two of the probably the strongest oppositions in the league - Falkirk and Morton. It shows you what we are all about just now - good team spirit.
"We ran over the top of Cowdenbeath in the last game but that will not be the case against Partick. We will be going there to win but if we can take anything out of the game it will be good for us to kick on for the rest of the season.
"Sitting top of the league we don't want to drop points. As long as we don't come away with a defeat we will be happy. Obviously we are going there to try and win the game but a draw wouldn't be a bad result for us either."
The defeat from Partick earlier in the league campaign is the only one suffered to date and Jordan had to go off injured in that game after just 35 minutes. There was no Callum Morris that day but Jordan feels that the team that has developed is capable of going to Firhill to beat their closest challengers.
"We are strong enough to win this one so I am hoping to go there and beat them."
Consistency is paying off for Dunfermline claims the 24 year old who joined from Rangers in January this year:
"It is a big part of winning the league and picking up results. We have been in horrible positions, two goals down but come back. That is all credit to ourselves and these things add up at the end of the season if you want to win the league.
"This season we have not given up at all even in the games when we have been down we could have won them. We are close knit and it doesn't matter who we are playing against, we are confident going into games. If we can beat Partick it will make a point."
