Jim Jefferies was delighted that his team left the Falkirk Stadium with a point. A fantastic comeback with goals in the 79th and 82nd minute made it an exciting finale to this important local derby. He felt that his side should have taken more from the first half:-
"We had two or three opportunities with headers that we should have done better with and we were looking alright. Then we were on the attack but gave the ball away on the edge of their box and one through ball let them score against the run of play. It was a good goal, the striker got away from our defenders who were caught ball watching and finished it well.
"We came out in the second half and again from an attack, Jordan McMillan I think it was, went up the right hand side and cut inside as if he was going to play the ball into the back post with his left foot but he tried to find somebody on the edge of the box with a one two that didn't work. They broke away and scored with another good finish. I felt the two goals were breakaways but it was a great game for the First Division.
"It was a well contested derby with good tackles and much effort. You expect that in these type of games. We felt a wee bit unlucky to be two nil down but we just went for it and put three men up front and with Kirk coming on. They were marking wee Josh closely, there wasn't a lot of room in there so we put Thomson on and went with a three pronged attack.
"We put the pressure on them and got a goal back. We said at the time if we could get a goal back then we would get an equaliser if there was enough time. It worked out that way. It was a great ball in and we had them under all sorts of pressure. Had there been another five or ten minutes we would have won the game because the momentum was definitely with us.
"When you come back from two nil down away from home in a tough game like that, against a team that is always going to be up there challenging, it feels like a win for us. Then when you come in and find out that the results went your way elsewhere and sitting top of the league on goal difference, that is terrific.
"Our supporters will be away happy because to come back from two nil down showed a lot of character. With a new, young team they have not been in that position before. They have never been two nil down so they answered questions regarding their spirit. It would be easy for the heads to go down and feel sorry for yourself but they showed fantastic character to come back. That is what they have in them by coming back.
"We had a wee chance with Wallace at the end, we were screaming at him to give it to Stevie Jordan but Ryan is capable of hitting the target, I only wish he had hit it as hard in the first half when he was on target.
"It is a terrific result for us coming back from two nil down and that speaks volumes for the team spirit. To date, this has been our toughest away fixture. Falkirk have not been going well but they would see this as a result that could get them back on track and try and put a run together. There are a lot of league games to go and positions can easily change. From being two nil up they will be more disappointed than we are."
