The Pars Need You??
?to continue to assist the Club in any way you can
The Board of Dunfermline Athletic Football Club continue to work hard to improve communication with the fans, at all levels, to ensure we can all work together to build our community spirited football club.
The Directors main challenge continues to be improving the month to month cash flow position of the Club, by building up a reserve of working capital whilst also clearing some historical short term debt. As well as appealing to more fans to come along to East End Park we are tirelessly looking for fresh investment opportunities.
Over the past few years we have faced fairly constant financial pressures arising not just from the general recession but also the promotion/relegation saga, failure to progress in cup competitions along with the well documented "bad luck" we faced last season. In addition, we had to make a substantial investment in a number of areas to obtain our SPL Licence, but then lost our place after only one season.
Therefore, promotion to the SPL is not always the financial panacea that everyone anticipates, although relegation itself has cost DAFC at least £1m in revenue.
We have now dramatically reduced our cost base to offset some of the anticipated reduction in revenue. As you know, our revised strategy under the steady hand of Jim Jefferies is to build for the future, with a much younger squad and the initial signs are very encouraging with many fans stating that they really feel invigorated by the change.
We are so conscious of the current economic climate, however the Board are always looking for ways to strengthen the financial position of the club and are happy to hear from anyone who has ideas which can assist the club.
Tracey Martin, Marketing Director, would be delighted to hear from anyone who would be interested in having a discussion and can be contacted on 01383 724295 or email tracey@dafc.co.uk
In addition, we continue to greatly appreciate the loyal support of our fans, and the Board have worked hard to improve things on and off the field this season, under difficult circumstances. We would also like to appeal to all of our supporters for any further assistance they can provide at this time.
The simplest route for supporters to assist DAFC would be through our existing Pars Needs You Discount Scheme. The Pars Need You scheme allows fans to prepay for various things like future Season Tickets, hospitality, shop purchases, player sponsorship, and receive a substantial discount in return. Since its launch in February 2012, the scheme has now raised over £19,000, and the Board are extremely thankful to the fans for supporting the Club in this way.
There are of course, a whole range of ways that the fans can help the club from purchasing an extra 50/50 ticket on a matchday or buying a matchday programme, buying a player sponsorship, taking hospitality at a home match, booking an event or Christmas Party at East End Park, joining the Pars Club Draw or taking an advert in our Matchday programme or Trackside advertising.
In addition, we are currently offering a 10 match season ticket package which provides a further discount for fans on the normal walk up price to make it more affordable.
With match day attendances difficult to predict in the current climate, why not simply bring a friend?. it would be great if all supporters can actively encourage others to attend East End Park to watch the exciting development of Jim Jefferies young team. If as many Season Ticket Holders as possible could bring a friend and increase the attendances at home games by 1,000 fans per game the club would see huge financial benefit from this more than any of the initiatives we have on the go.
The Club hope to announce in the next few weeks more details on two fresh initiatives where supporters can assist DAFC in terms of fund raising. One of which was well regarded in our summer Supporters Survey, that is the Supporters Wall, and the other is a Pars Christmas Post initiative.
The launch of this current Pars Needs You initiative is being co-ordinated by the Club by the participants of United Pars, Pars Supporters Trust, DAFC Supporters Club and Centenary Club are all 100% behind the latest initiative.
Thank you for your continued support.
