Jim Jefferies was concerned that his side might react badly following their disastrous ending to Wednesday night's Scottish Communities League Cup tie against Aberdeen and that Hamilton had an extra day to recover from their cup tie.
"We asked them at half time to up the tempo a bit and got off to a great start in the second half. For quarter of an hour we were just trying to find our feet but we began to dominate. Give Hamilton credit; they are a young side with plenty of buzz about them but we just had too much for them in the second half.
"After the early goal, it started to flow from us and we could have scored two or three more. You have to be happy coming away with that after what we have gone through this week, to win 3-0 away from home.
"It is a difficult place to come because Partick didn't win here - they got knocked out the cup here, Falkirk drew here - so I told the players before the game that this will be your stiffest test with no disrespect to Cowdenbeath, Airdrie or Dumbarton. This was going to be the toughest test but to come away winning 3-0 is just fantastic for us.
"These players are doing the club proud. We are a relatively new side after all the stuff about what league we were going to be in. We have signed hungry players from the lower divisions as the club had to cut its wage bill drastically. There is a long way to go and a lot of things to contend with but the biggest fear is that a good young side like this will attract attention. If they keep what they are doing and somebody else is going to come along.
Josh Falkingham doing his level best
"What I have learned in the past is that they can be snatched away. Morris was again outstanding today, McMillan was outstanding, wee Falkingham causes teams a lot of problems and the two midfielders were two young boys that we brought to the club. Upfront Wallace is dangerous. I look to the experience that I retained in Dowie, Cardle, Barrowman etc. they have all blended well. There is a fantastic team spirit and it is a joy to be manager of such a great bunch of boys.
"When you look at the bench today with Thomson, who started the season on fire with two goals in the first game but then had this private problem that has been all sorted out. He has come on today and scored but he has just got to be patient and wait for his chance. The team is playing so well it is hard to get people like Thomson and Kirk into the side. They will play a part as well because of tiring and suspension, wee dips and being jaded, we will need all these boys as well. We have one or two good youngsters waiting in the wings, so things are good.
"We will keep our feet on the ground and not make any predictions that we are going to be up there winning the championship. The aim this year was to make sure that we are up there challenging playing a good brand of football so that the fans can thoroughly enjoy the season. So far we are pleasing a lot of people with the way we are playing."
There will be no video highlights on Pars TV since their equipment packed in at half time.
