Jordan McMillan enjoyed a loan period at Hamilton and says it will be good to go back there with Dunfermline:-
"I was unfortunate to get injured and only played six games. I went with a hernia injury, it got worse and it was a bit stop start but I made a lot of friends there and enjoyed working with Billy Reid."
The Pars captain knows that Reid has built a really young team again in much the same way as Dunfermline have:-
"We are a bigger club than them and we have a bit more experience. They might take a bit of time to bed in and they might be happy just to stay up this season, if they do it will be a big feat for them. But they have young players who will be hungry and they will want to play; we can still expect a tough game."
The Pars will have to shake off the disappointment of Wednesday night's defeat to Aberdeen in the third minute of stoppage time:-
"I thought we deserved to win, their boys were saying that to me as they were still coming off the park. They were apologising in a sense, saying sorry but that's part and parcel of football - you win some and you lose some.
"We can take plusses from the game - that was a Premier League team who will probably be top half this year and we played them off the park for 70 minutes. The Manager, Gerry and Neil (McCann) were very happy as a lot of the boys were. I was disappointed just because I am a sore loser. I will take the plusses from it and be happy for Saturday."
It was because his team did play well that Jordan was so down. He claimed that Dunfermline just didn't get any breaks against Craig Brown's Dons, feeling that they should have won comfortably by one or two goals.
"We know we played well enough to win the game so we go into Saturday's game confident. The mix of youth and experience has been well blended with the odd night out and away days together. We are a good close knit squad and that is showing on the park. We are all working really hard for each other, there is no bitching or moans about each other. We need that closeness to kick on and win leagues."
Jordan was delighted to get on the scoresheet against Livingston, his second goal in 19 Pars appearances. What's more, now that he has tasted the feeling again he is keen to keep that going for the duration of the season:-
"I don't know how I managed it to be honest. There was a rush of blood to the head. It was a good feeling to score a goal and the team played very well on the day. I got in a good position and I am hoping to do that a bit more often. With the formation and the way we play I get a freedom to go forward and I hope to get a few goals this year."
Jordan acknowledged the role that Andy Barrowman had in creating the opening for him:-
"He is a different type of striker; you get loads of different types and he is the one who works really really hard and makes a lot of chances for other people. My goal was purely down to him; he drew a couple of bodies out and slipped it in to me unselfishly. Ryan (Wallace) is a bit different again; he is more in the box and wanting to be alive in there.
"Barrowman will take a lot more hits because he is big and strong, getting his head in. You need that and Kirky is a natural goalscorer and we need that balance.
"Defenders and midfielders need to chip in with goals too because you can't depend on your strikers to be always scoring goals. If I can chip in with five or six by the end of the season, I do not think that is impossible."
