15/09/12: JJ - "Overall everybody was comfortable but the pick of them all today was Josh, he was just involved in everything

Jim Jefferies felt that his side should have had the game out of sight in the spell after taking a two goal lead.

"After the euphoria of our last game in front of a big crowd, a big game for us in a local derby we had to come to places like this to grind out results. Sometimes it will not be pretty but we were here to get the job done and that's what we did today."

The Manager was unwilling to make the playing surface at the Bet Butler stadium any excuse for the sometimes disjointed play:-

"The pitch was very very difficult - sticky and bobbly. You can see grass on it but when you walk on it you can see how difficult it is. There were passes getting stuck between their feet and they couldn't really get it out but it was the same for both teams.

"Ryan Wallace will never have two easier chances to score and if he had put one of those in we could maybe have gone on and scored a few more. You always try and make sure that they do not get back into it. We made a number of chances in both halves really to win the game more comfortably than we did."

Josh Falkingham v Dumbarton

The gaffer had special praise for one of his midfielders:-

"I thought Josh Falkingham today was absolutely outstanding; he was unlucky on two or three occasions where he had great one twos round about the box but was taken out the game. Nothing was given and we found that a wee bit strange but overall we got the job done and I don't think there was any danger of us losing it."

Josh had quite a say in the opening goal and the Manager described Kirk's 41st minute strike as fantastic:-

"We had a call off through illness from Andy Barrowman, he has been doing well for us, and Joe Cardle got injured so Whittle came on. Him and Josh worked it up the left hand side to get a great ball in and Kirkie has done what he normally does in the six yard box.

Andy Kirk v Dumbarton

"We had some chances before that but it was just not Ryan Wallace's day; he could have had a hat trick easily today. He is maybe saving them for the next game. Overall his runs in behind, his link up play was excellent, I am not having a go at Wallace because I thought he played well throughout the game and caused them all sorts of problems. What was missing was the goal that he should have had, he knows that.

"Overall everybody was comfortable but the pick of them all today was Josh, he was just involved in everything. He is a terrific little footballer and he would probably be the main reason why we won today."
