Scotland a whole new world for Jordan

"I enjoyed the 4-0 win at Cowdenbeath and it would have been nice to follow that up with a home win.

Stephen Jordan was unaware of the poor record that his new team have at home. One win in front of the home fans since May 2011 is something that the Pars new man wants to correct as soon as possible:-

"Let's hope we can turn that around in two weeks time. In the first half against Partick we didn't get in their faces enough. We probably dropped off them a bit too deep but we were a lot better in the second half and maybe deserved a point."

To lose captain Jordan McMillan just half way through the first half upset the game plan to a certain extent, Stephen explained that the shape is something that is worked on in training and the holding midfielder was extremely important:-

"He came off and Josh Falkingham was ill yesterday and probably shouldn't have played. He wanted to play - you know how people are. He wasn't 100% and I think we got overrun a bit in midfield.

"I'd like to see the goal again; it came from their left. He just cut in and it was all a bit too easy. Partick were a good team and I think they will be up there. Hopefully we will be too.

"We were pushing for the goal in the second half and talking a few more chances at the back. They were a pretty good team on the break but I thought we dealt with them well. The Manager re-iterated that we were not great in the final third. It is not my job to say that but we need to score goals to win games and we didn't do that today.

"I enjoyed the 4-0 win at Cowdenbeath and it would have been nice to follow that up with a home win. That will have to wait until the week after next."

Scottish football is a whole new experience for the 30 year old who joined Dunfermline after being released by Rochdale. The Warrington born player has vast experience in England with Manchester City, Cambridge United, Burnley, Sheffield Wednesday and Huddersfield. It was news to him that the next game away to top of the table Airdrie United would be on an artificial surface:-

"That will be good for my groins" he jested when he discovered that he would not be playing on grass at the Excelsior. "There seems to be history between teams in this league what with Cowdenbeath last week.  Airdrie beat Livingston and I believe that they are a good team. We just need to go there and beat them."
