Important Information for Fans For First Home Game
Wednesday, 15th Aug 2012Celebrate a true Pars Legend at 2.45pm. Gallery Suite open to both sets of fans on Saturday p
It will be good at long last to welcome everyone back to East End Park on Saturday, for our first home league game of the new season. In advance, the Club would like to communicate with supporters in advance on a number of issues.
GALLERY SUITE: The Gallery Suite will be open to both sets of supporters on Saturday from 12 noon until 2.45pm.
MATCH TICKET PACKAGE DEALS: The Club continues to work hard to make the walk up prices more attractive for fans in the current climate. A full Season Ticket makes a big saving, but is not achievable for every fan. Therefore, the Club has created two further match day packages, which it is hoped will be attractive for non-Season Ticket Holders to purchase in advance, and further assist the Club greatly in terms of working capital.
All supporters purchasing match day tickets in the Ticket Office on Saturday will be provided with details of a new 10 Match Ticket and a special "Derby Day" 6 Match Ticket, both of which present a good saving on the normal walk up price per game, and it is hoped these will be well received.
FREE KIDS FLAGS: 120 small black and white flags will be available from the Club Shop. These will be provided free to primary school kids on a first come, first served basis and can be taken into the stadium. There will also be a facepainter in our Norrie McCathie Stand concourse for the kids to get their face painted in the Pars' colours
CROSSBAR CHALLENGE: Unfortunately, the first planned "Crossbar Challenge" will not take place at half time on Saturday. Despite over 300 supporters in the recent fans survey stating that they would like to participate, only 23 supporters have applied to date. The Club acknowledge that the process of handing in a paper application and £5 in cash to the Club Shop might have created logistical problems for a number of fans. Therefore, it is proposed to start the challenge at the next home game against Raith Rovers on 1 September, if we can boost numbers by then.
Blank applications for the Crossbar Challenge will be available at the Ticket Office and the Club Shop on Saturday, so please can all fans wishing to participate themselves (or wish Pars Legend, John Watson to take the kick on their behalf) please take this opportunity to complete their application form and hand it in at the Club Shop on Saturday, along with their £5 entrance fee. Your assistance would be much appreciated.
John Watson will provide a demonstration at half time on Saturday to show everyone how it should be done! Also taking place at half time will be the semi final of the Young Pars Penalty Kick competition when youth keeper Steven Mayne will be tested by four qualifiers from the heats held earlier this summer.
NEW PA ANNOUNCER: Dave Anderson will take over the reins from Alex Mill, in carrying out the PA duties this coming season. Dave has a number of exciting ideas and concepts he would like to adopt and share with Pars Fans throughout the course of the season, but does not want to give away too much at this stage!
NORRIE McCATHIE STAND: All being well, our new giant poster of Norrie is to be fitted on Friday and formally unveiled on Saturday before the game. Jim Leishman and Norrie's good friend, John Watson will be there to unveil the poster at 2.45pm, so please arrive early to celebrate a true Pars Legend. Unfortunately, Norrie's mother is not able to attend Saturday's game. In addition, four black and white plaques with a red number "4" will be placed above the centre stairwells of the McCathie Stand, as another poignant reminder of Norrie.
NORTH WEST STAND: Finally, two new removable canvases will be fitted in the North West Stand, with the finished versions reflecting the majority feedback from Pars fans in our recent survey. Hopefully, everyone will be pleased with the finished article.
TICKET PRICES: Tickets are on sale now for Saturday's match from the DAFC Ticket Office and Shop! Tickets will be on sale from the Ticket Kiosks on Saturday from 1.00 pm until 3.20pm for cash sales and the Ticket Office will be open from 12.00 pm until kick off.
