Dunfermline Athletic Youth teams at U13, U14, U15 age levels for next season have been invited down to Derbyshire next Sunday 5th - Wednesday 8th August for an annual football festival run by Tom Statham, an Academy coach at Manchester United.
Teams taking part in the festival include Sheffield Wednesday, Aberdeen, County Mayo (Ireland), Watford, Stoke City, Leyton Orient, Leicester City, Derby County, Ipswich Town, Crewe Alexandra, MK Dons, The Independent Schools FA National Team, Bradford City, Cambridge United, Burton Albion, Plymouth Argyle and our very own Dunfermline Athletic.
Aberdeen have been attending the festival for a number of years and Neil Simpson, Aberdeen Head of Youth, kindly recommended Dunfermline Athletic to Tom. Stephen Wright said:-
" This gives our young players a great opportunity to sample playing against top teams from England and Ireland and they also experience staying away from home in a training camp environment. All teams will play three games per day at the festival, with the emphasis being on player and coach development and not based on results. It is a relaxed and friendly tournament which could potentially become an annual event for our young players."
Thanks again to our player and parent fundraising team who have helped to make this trip possible.
