Smith in goal for Pars
Thursday, 12th Jul 2012Sounds familiar but Graeme not Chris!
Jim Jefferies has brought in former Motherwell and Hibs goalkeeper Graeme Smith on trial. In the absence of Paul Gallacher who is still recovering from injury, it is likely that the 29 year old will play at Berwick on Satuirday.
Smith started his career with Rangers but did not make an appearance for the club. During his time at Ibrox he was loaned out to Ross County. In June 2005, Smith signed for Motherwell making 127 appearances over four seasons. On 1 January 2010 he joined Hibs and was released by Hibs in April 2011.He had made only 16 league appearances during his 15 months with the Edinburgh club.
Last summer he was invited by Tony Adams to train with Azerbaijan Premier League club Gabala in July 2011. Smith signed a one year contract with Gabala after a pre-season tour of England but that contract has not been renewed.
Defender Paddy Boyle will join Blue Square North league team, Gateshead on a six month loan subject to confirmation being received from SFA and SFL.
