Dunfermline Athletic are pleased to announce the signing of three players, Andy Geggan, Ryan Wallace and Josh Falkingham. All three have signed two year deals at the Club.
Geggan is a 25 year old who played for Livingston as a youth player before joining Dumbarton in 2006. He played there for five seasons making 164 appearances in all competitions scoring 9 goals. He won a winner's medal with Dumbarton as they won the Third Division in 2009. The midfielder joined Ayr United in June 2011 and went on to make 43 starts for the Somerset Park side, scoring six times.
East Fife's Ryan Wallace and Arbroath's Josh Falkingham - both 21 years old - have also completed their signing today (Friday). Jim Jefferies commented on them:-
"They fit the remit of the younger players we're looking to bring in. They are young and their clubs didn't want to stand in their way because they were getting the chance to move into full-time football."
Striker Ryan Wallace scored 27 goals last season and joined the Methil club from Airdrie United but prior to that had been at Hearts where he had made appearances in the SPL as sub against Rangers and at home to Hamilton.
Arbroath playmaker Josh Falkingham has been integral to the success at Gayfield over the last two seasons and was popular with the fans for his silky passing and gritty determined style. He spent 11 years at Leeds United before being released two years ago. After a short spell at St Johnstone the midfielder joined ex Saint, Paul Sheerin at Arbroath where he won the Scottish Third Division Player of the Year in his first season. Falkingham played 67 times for the Lichties, netting 17 times.
This follows on the completion of the other close season signing of midfielder Chris Kane from Hearts on Friday 1st June. Director of Football Jim Leishman said:-
"The Manager has asked me to complete the signs of all these young players. It is clear that we are building for the future and investing in a young squad."
