Lochgelly Albert v Dunfermline Ath. XI
Gardiners Park, Lochgelly
7.00pm Wednesday 25th July 2012
Lochgelly Albert will play host to a Dunfermline Athletic XI when they meet on Wednesday 25th July at Gardiners Park Lochgelly for what promises to be an exciting match.
Visiting Lochgelly Albert on the night will be Dunferml;ine Athletic Manager, Jim Jefferies and some of his newly signed players. Provost of Fife and Director of Football at East End Park, Jim Leishman will be at the match as well as Lochgelly Albert and DAFC's long term sponsors, The Purvis Group.
Dunfermline Athletic are delighted to be invited to this friendly as it will be a great opportunity for people to see some of the new signings in action while also renewing the Club's commitment to being at the heart of the community in Fife and supporting young football talent.
Jim Leishman commented:-
"Obviously Lochgelly is my home town and I'm looking forward to going back to watch this game. To have my 1st junior team playing against the team which I went on to play and manage will be fantastic."
Of course this friendly could not have happened without the continued support of sponsors The Purvis Group whose commitment to Lochgelly Albert over the last 25 years and DAFC over the last 8 years is so valuable to both Clubs and to local football in Fife. Bob Purvis Chairman of the Purvis Group admits that the evening will be one where his loyalties will be split as Robert Purvis Plant Hire have been the main sponsors of Lochgelly Albert for 25 years.
"I am looking forward to this event as it confirms my long cherished aim that local businesses should put something back into the communities in which we live and work. I hope that everyone who attends the match has a great night and I will be happy if the match ends all square."
Jim Leishman added:-
"The support the Purvis group have provided to DAFC over the last 8 years has been greatly appreciated by everyone at the Club. We are more than happy to support Lochgelly Albert by playing them, it gets DAFC out to our local communities and hopefully from this game they will manage to raise a lot of much needed funds."
Ticket prices have now been confirmed as £2 adults, £1 for children - (There will be no concessions)
