Andy Kirk post Kilmarnock
Sunday, 13th May 2012"It's been our downfall all year - conceding goals and when we have been ahead, not seeing games out."
Andy Kirk's season was summed up in the two late Kilmarnock goals that yet again denied the Pars an SPL victory on Saturday:-
"It's been our downfall all year - conceding goals and when we have been ahead, not seeing games out."
The 32 year old striker with 149 appearances is in contract at Dunfermline for another season but he is one of the few; no fewer than 17 are out of contract in two weeks time. He continued:
"There are a lot of players out of contract as you know but we will just have to wait and see what the future holds. The Manager will find out what his budget is and who he can keep and who will be going. Until that comes we are not really sure ourselves.
"Jim Jefferies knows the game inside out, he knows what type of players it will take and what way he wants to play. He could be the man to take us right back up."
Andy scored 17 goals for Dunfermline in the season that they won the First Division title and so yet again he could have an important role to play as Dunfermline prepare to emulate Hibs and Inverness Caley Thistle in trying to return at the first attempt:-
"I have played here for three seasons in the First and worked really hard to win it and get out of it. If I stay here I will do the same and hopefully bounce back up again."
