Willis hopes to start
Thursday, 10th May 2012"I feel myself that I could have played in more games and helped the team a bit more.
Paul Willis was deeply disappointed that the Pars could not pull off the great escape at Easter Road on Monday. Even more so as a lifelong Jambo, Paul was sad that it was the Pars and not the Hibees who make the drop out of the SPL. The 20 year old from Edinburgh said:-
"Everyone knows how hard the First Division is; bottom of the league can beat top of the league. It is just a weird league and we just have to be ready for every game we play. We need to make sure that we are taking three points each time and get back into the SPL."
Paul has been an unused sub in every one of the post split games so far. He has 10 SPL starts to his name, the last against Hearts on Saturday 7th April. In 22 appearances this season he has experienced just one win - against Hibs on 5th November - so he is hoping to end the season on a high since he is expected to start against Kilmarnock on Saturday.
Paul's contract with Dunfermline takes him to the end of next season and he hopes to play a big part in the Pars promotion push in 2012-13:-
"I have done it in the SPL and played a lot more than I have done in previous seasons - it's progress but I feel myself that I could have played in more games and helped the team a bit more.
"I feel that I have learned from playing against SPL teams and against better players. The Manager hasn't made a decision on who he is going to keep. There is a number out of contract; it means that these are worrying times with uncertainty over futures."
