Turner's debut defeat

"I was reasonably pleased, it would obviously have been better with a win but the boys played from start to finish.

After the 3-2 defeat to eleventh placed Hibs, new goalkeeper Iain Turner gave his thoughts on his debut for Dunfermline:-

"I was reasonably pleased, it would obviously have been better with a win but the boys played from start to finish. They worked hard, tried to create things but it wasn't to be today."

The big keeper's last game was for Preston against Bournemouth almost three months ago. He continued:-

"It is nice to be back involved that was my first first team game since October so I was very pleased to get a game under my belt but I was hoping for more.

"It was just Tuesday that I found out about the move, on Wednesday I was training with the boys and Thursday and Friday I was getting to know them.

"We believe that we have a good team. We have very good players and if we keep performing like that and trying hard we will get points on the board.

Losing three goals on your debut is not the best of starts but the 27 year old stopper was well aware of that but was optimistic about his future at the Club:-

"To lose any goal in a game a goalkeeper is going to be disappointed but we felt that we deserved something out of that game. It was a good standard with good players on both sides. Hibs weren't better than us; we played well and unfortunately we went down."

Things were looking up for Iain and his new team when Liam Buchanan notched an equaliser just eight minutes from the end and the big keeper was naturally disappointed:-

"As soon as you score you have to keep it tight unfortunately it was a good turn from the boy and a good finish. Every goal that goes in you analyse yourself. I got my hand to it but it was just too close to me and I couldn't get down quick enough for it. It was a sharp turn."

East End Park was a new ground for the keeper who started his professional career at Stirling Albion and he was full of praise for the home support who were chanting his name with less than a minute of the game gone:-

"It was a great thrill today, the fans were singing from start to finish. If the boys try hard, the fans support them."
