Manager on Friday
Friday, 6th Jan 201206/01/12: JM - We have played Inverness twice this year and done well against them, we will be looking to take that into the game tomorrow."
After the appalling bad luck that he has had this season with injuries and fatal mistakes in matches, Jim McIntyre is hoping that his luck changes in the Scottish Cup at Inverness:-
"It is a break from the league but it is a very important game, it is not any less important because it is the Scottish Cup. It is a cup that we would like to have a run in and we want to get ourselves into the hat for the next round."
The Fourth Round draw paired Dunfermline with Inverness Caley Thistle, the only all SPL tie in the last 32. Naturally Macca would have liked a slightly easier looking tie:-
"In the earlier rounds you want to be drawn against a lower league team with a home draw first and foremost but we just need to get on with it. We have played Inverness twice this year and done well against them, we will be looking to take that into the game tomorrow."
The team was set up to be solid against Celtic and even in a cup tie it will be a resolute eleven that starts at Inverness. Injuries are just as mentioned previously; Paul Gallacher is out for the season but Kevin Rutkiewicz has trained all week and managed 60 minutes in a bounce game in midweek, Steven McDougall is back in training, Craig Easton has trained now for two weeks so numbers are a bit healthier.
Nick Phinn and Austin McCann are progressing but still short of comebacks. The Manager added:-
"This year has been exceptionally bad in terms of injuries, we have had a lot of injuries at the one time. You are always going to pick up injuries but hopefully we will not have as many as we had in the first half of the season. The more bodies we get back, the stronger the team is and we will see the results turn."
