Paul Gallacher Post Rangers
Monday, 26th Sep 2011Davis in midfield controlled it from start to finish - he was superb and we just couldn't get near them. We had no answer at all for that and it was a tough price to pay in the end.
Paul Gallacher revealed that the Pars game plan was to try and consolidate, keep it tight and not lose an early goal:-
"Unfortunately we switched off at the corner and they have scored a goal. After that we went into our shell for a bit and Rangers imposed themselves on the game and dominated it. Davis in midfield controlled it from start to finish - he was superb and we just couldn't get near them. We had no answer at all for that and it was a tough price to pay in the end.
"Rangers have talented players in their team but they cruised it. We allowed them to get on the ball and play football. They scored some quite easy goals to be honest, we are thoroughly disappointed for the fans who turned up in their numbers.
The bright early start to the SPL has faded for Gallacher and his Dunfermline team:-
"We have had some bad results in recent weeks but we need to reflect on that and we have a big game against Aberdeen to look forward to now. It is one that we need to pick up points in. We have lost a few goals in the last three league matches so there's a lot to think about. We will look at the video, analyse what went wrong and try and rectify the errors that we made against Rangers."

The job of keeping Rangers out was made all the more difficult for Paul when opponents were not picked up in the box, he described that as most frustrating:-
"At the same time, we are in it together and we were all making mistakes. We are getting punished at the minute; it is never nice to be on the end of a drubbing like that. We will need to pick ourselves up, pick through the pieces and hopefully rectify some of those errors that we have made in the last few weeks."
Dunfermline have been playing some pretty football and Paul has been trying his hardest to keep the goals out behind all this:-
"I need to keep making saves, shore up at the back a little and hopefully we will put some goals in at the other end. I am fairly happy with my performances but we are losing these games and let's be honest we'd rather all play poor, win and get the points on the board."
