Austin McCann Post Rangers
Sunday, 25th Sep 2011"We are bitterly disappointed with the manner in which we got beat. We should have put up a hell of a lot more fight and our quality on the ball was poor."
Austin McCann appeared to be oblivious to the controversy that television had tried to create accusing Steven Naismith of deliberately elbowing the Pars captain:-
"The one in the box? I thought it was accidental at the time, if TV is showing something else well it is the first I know of it. I got up straight away and just got on with it.
"I was on him for setpieces so I was trying to mark him. With the way the ball was bouncing about it, it was accidental. I got cut on the lip but I have had worse - these things happen. He said sorry straight away so that's how I assumed that it was an accident."
Like the rest of the Pars team, Ozzie was desperately disappointed with their showing against the SPL champions:-
"It was poor from us today, there is no hiding that. It is not saying that if we had done better, we would have won the game but it was the manner in which we lost the game.
"We spoke about keeping it tight early but we lost a goal early doors and from then on in we just never got going. We didn't pass the ball as well as we could, we gave away cheap possession and goals. We made it too easy for Rangers and don't think they got out of second gear all day."
The third Rangers goal in the sixth minute of the second half ended the Pars chances of a comeback from two goals down for the second week running:-
"That was the positive thing that we were talking about at half time, if we could go out and get a goal back you never know what could happen. Rangers got the third one and that killed the game off. We are bitterly disappointed with the manner in which we got beat. We should have put up a hell of a lot more fight and our quality on the ball was poor."
