Jim's pockets are cleaned out at Perth races
Jim Nelson - The Bookie as he known on match days at East End Park - was 60 on Thursday 15th September. Congratulations to Jim of Watsons the Bookmakers, he celebrated his big birthday in Lucca, Italy but true to form he cut short his break to be back in Dunfermline for the visit of the Hibees. Win lose or draw it is always a bad day for the bookie!
A life long Pars supporter, Jim was a ballboy at East End Park and cleaned the terracings on a Sunday after the game.
He played Junior football for Comrie Colliery (formerly and again now Steelend Vics) for a period of ten years until a leg break effectively ended his career. He was a right back but a player who could be relied on wherever he was asked to play. Team mate in the Comrie Colliery side was kit man Mo Hutton and during that time the Manager was Joe Nelson.
Jim is married to Jean, one of the Young Pars Committee. They have two children Kerry and Steven who have provided them with four grandchildren.
