Graham onside for victory

Friday, 16th Sep 2011

Hibs: ""They are in a false position for such a massive club. They have a good squad of players but are just having a bad time of it at the moment.

David Graham

David Graham is hoping that the decisions go the Pars way when Hibs are the visitors to East End Park on Saturday. He believed that he strayed offside when Andy Kirk netted against Kilmarnock only to see the offside flag raised but the Pars own video analysis revealed that to be doubtful.

"The gaffer has shown it to us and he says that he can see why the linesman has given it because it is so tight. It is one of those that goes against you and costs you a point."

All that came after the Pars had started the game really well putting Killie on the back foot.

"We gave away a penalty and they got their tails up. They started to express themselves and come into the game. The goal right before half time was a succour punch and gets you down but we started the second half well with Ryan Thomson's goal. We hoped to kick on after that but they ended up getting another good goal. There aren't many teams go to Kilmarnock and have more possession of the ball than them. They did more with it than we did but I still think we did enough to get something out of the game."

That left David and his team mates a bit down beat but they know that they will need to pick themselves up and address the lunchtime kick off against Hibs. He claimed that the whole team needs to defend better:-

"We need to keep teams at bay because we will always create chances to score. We are coming up against better quality players and we need to concentrate more and make sure that we are doing our jobs without switching off."

David knows that his side have got results when they weren't expected to and not won games at home to St Mirren and Inverness Caley when it was hoped that they would have taken three points. Hibs are bottom of the league but the season is only six matches old:-

"They are in a false position for such a massive club. They have a good squad of players but are just having a bad time of it at the moment. Hopefully their run continues on Saturday and they don't beat us but they won't be bottom come the end of the season."

Familiar face in the opposing team is likely to be an opponent whom they met last season versus Dundee. Leigh Griffiths joined Wolves in January this year for an undisclosed sum and has been loaned out to the Easter Road club until 9th January. David acknowledged that the 20 year old originally from Leith will have to be watched:-

"Leigh Griffiths is a sharp player and I am sure that having been down south with better coaches and playing with better players day in day out he will have come on."
