First Pars goal for Thommo

Thursday, 15th Sep 2011

Thomson motoring as he gets his goalscoring up and running but is teased to join Team Vauxhall

Ryan Thomson

Ryan Thomson opened his Dunfermline goal scoring account in last Saturday's SPL match at Kilmarnock. He had previously scored at senior level when out on loan to Albion Rovers for 15 games. That was with his feet but this time it was a header but much more significant for Ryan was that it was a Premier League goal  He explained:-

"It was good to score my first 'real' goal for my club. I have had a few chances in the games I have played in but it was nice to come on and make an impact right away. I was glad to get the goal and thought I did well enough when I was on the park."

The 20 year old who has come up through the Dunfermline Youth system since joining at U15 level continued:-

"You can only show what you can do when you are on the pitch, hopefully I will get more time but I just need to wait for my chance.  Hopefully I will do well when I get the chance.

Ryan Thomson

Ryan is surrounded by experienced midfielder in the shape of Gary Mason, Martin Hardie and Craig Easton.  The three of them are just short of the century of years amongst them but young Ryan who is still only 20 has learned his fair share of banter off them as well.

"I travel in with Austin McCann, Paul Burns, Martin Hardie and Steven McDougall.  Ozzie has changed from BMW to Vauxhall and they have been trying to get me involved in 'Team Vauxhall' but I haven't bought a car yet. I am looking but hopefully soon."

Ryan is in the squad for the match against Hibs and he is hoping to get another chance to impress at some stage.
