Paul Gallacher Post United

Paul Gallacher's first half save from Scott Robertson was coined "world class" by Dundee United Manager, Peter Houston but the Pars stopper calmly brushed aside the plaudits claiming that he was merely doing his job:-
"I didn't know much about it. Joe (Cardle) went to press it but the ball just came through bodies and I just reacted. I have kept it out the net, kept a clean sheet and we are happy. I have got to say that the boys in front of us were fantastic; they defended ever so well against a team who are obviously hurting from last week. United passed the ball well today and caused us a lot of problems.
"It has been a fantastic start for us but we know that there's more in the locker. We hope that can improve and build on these wins."
The 32 year old keeper who made over 130 appearances in five seasons at United, feels that tips that Dunfermline were favourites to go straight back down to the First Division might be making the Pars more determined than ever to do well:-
"It is in the back of your mind but the boys were used to winning week in week out last season. They are now in a big league with massive teams and great players but the boys have stepped up to the plate so far. We know in house that we have much more to offer and we need to build on that every week."
There is little doubt that the winning mentality is still with Dunfermline and Gall has seen that daily in training when there is a perpetual buzz about Pitreavie:-
"That shows on the park and the new boys have come in to that atmosphere. We now have added experience like myself and John Potter but if we play like that every week we can do quite well this season."
