Seven new faces have joined the Dunfermline U19 squad for this season

Seven new U19s

Seven new faces have joined the Dunfermline U19 squad for the new season.
Jordan Brown
DOB: 15/08/94

17 year old who played for Hillfield Swifts from age six until joining Dunfermline at U10. Was at Hearts at U13 to U17 where he was coached by Stevie Fulton before coming to Dunfermline. He attended Inverkeithing High School.  Preferred position is right back or centre back but can play left back and midfield as well.  Coaches at Dunfermline have been Chris Candlish, Gordon Arthur and Stevie Paterson. Enjoying being back at Dunfermline.

DOB: 13/04/94
Position: left back or left midfield.

Another 17 year old, Jack attended Holyrood School and started playing at Edina Hibs Boys Club at the age of 10 where his coach was Ian Fergus until U13.  Hibs U14 to U17. Scored for Hibs in a 4-3 over Dunfermline which always seems to be a good omen if you are to succeed at your new club. Looking forward to playing at Dunfermline because he feels that he might have a better opportunity here.

Position: Centre Half

17 year who played with Preston Athletic from U6 to U12 before joining Hearts from U12 to U17.  Stevie Fulton coached him at U13 and U14.  Scott attended Ross High School in Tranent.

Calum Howie
DOB: 18/08/95

Just turned 16 Calum comes from Glenrothes and attended Auchmuty High School. He played with Glenrothes Strollers from age of 10 until U14 where his coach was Pars legend, Bobby Robertson.  His position is left midfield or left back and at Dunfermline has come up from U14 to U17 with Scott Mercer.

Position: Midfielder


Scott has been with Dunfermline Athletic since U10s.  He is a local lad who attended Queen Anne High School and has been Pars fan all his life. The 16 year old claims that the biggest influence of his development has been Stevie Paterson, his coach for three years while in the youth system at Dunfermline.

DOB: 25/04/94

Position: Full Back (left or right)
17 year old who played for Lewis United in Aberdeen at U14 level. Joined Inverness Caley Thistle for U15 and Dundee United at U17.
Influenced by Charlie Christie at Inverness and grateful to his father for all the miles he has travelled with him in pursuit of football.

Allan Smith
DOB 25/01/94
Position: Forward

Winger from Selkirk this 17 year old will play anywhere upfront. Allan was with Hibs from age 8 to U15, Gala Fairydean U17 and U19 where he was coached by Chris Anderson  Also an accomplished rugby player with Selkirk Youth Rugby Club playing on the wing for them when they reached the 2011 Scottish Cup Final that they lost to Stirling County at Murrayfield.

Three of the players who stepped up from the Dunfermline U19's this season,  have gone out on loan; Conor Schiavone and Steven Leslie respectively to juniors Ballingry Rovers and East of Scotland League, Tynecastle FC.  Both Conor and Steven still both train at Pitreavie. John MacDonald is on a season long loan at Newtongrange Star.

Elsewhere former Pars U19 player Harry McGregor has joined juniors Musselburgh United, after playing last season with Dunbar United.
