U19s back in training

Six new full timers join the Dunfermline U19 squad for the first day of their pre season training

The Under 19s started off their pre season training at Pitreavie on Monday 27th June.  Six new full timers joined Hamish French's squad - (above left to right) Chris Hackland, Ross Millen, Blair Henderson, Steven Mayne (GK), Fraser Moncrieff and Ross Drummond.

Jim Leishman said it was great to see the excitement coming through.

"I remember my first day of full time training. it was a great experience and a really exciting time. You are full of enthusiasm and hope.  With a little bit of luck the aim is to take you through to the first team.,

"It is a long process; hopefully their journey is fulfilled."

The first year U19s start on a Modern Apprenticeship working on an SVQ through the SFA scheme. Jim continued:-

"It is a means to an end, we all want them through to the first team - that is our objective."
