Bell walking back to fitness
Thursday, 23rd Jun 2011"I am over the worst of it and expect to have to run for a month before getting back into contact training which will be around six months since the op. I will need reserve games to get back to match fitness."
Just like his nine month old son, Nicholas, Steven Bell is hoping to be walking soon. His baby was only six weeks old when Dad sustained his season ending injury at Cappielow in November 2010 however recovery is now well underway from his Achilles tendon operation and on day two of pre season training his exercise was to remove the protective boot from his left foot.
"This is the first day of me taking it off. I will put it on to go home, try it off on Friday and Saturday with a view to removing it altogether on Monday. It is hard to walk just now because I don't have the calf and leg muscles to push off. I need to build up the muscle, walking for four or five weeks to prepare me for running.

Steven (26) is working on weights and on the bike with physio Kenny Murray testing him daily to gauge progress. He visits his consultant every two weeks and he is happy with the Pars midfielder's progress.
"It is good to hear that he is confident because if he is confident then I am confident."
Currently Steven Bell is the only injury at the Club and Belly joked the he would be "best pal" with anyone coming a cropper in pre season.
