Wullie wishes pals success
Tuesday, 19th Apr 2011"It is good to see that the fans will turn out for it because it is a massive game; it's a big step towards the title.
Wullie Gibson is hoping that his former team mates at Dunfermline can taste title success in the same way that he has just achieved at Crawley Town. He described his feelings as Dunfermline prepare for the important Fife Derby against Raith Rovers this Saturday and his pleasure that East End Park is going to be bursting at the seams:-
"It is good to see that the fans will turn out for it because it is a massive game; it's a big step towards the title. I want Dunfermline to do it since the boys have done terrifically well; they stuttered a wee bit but now they are starting to punish teams as they should have been."
Wullie has made 14 appearances for the newly crowned Blue Square Bet Premier League champions since joining them during the January transfer window and after their 4-0 win at Southport, he was delighted that the Pars had also gone on a goal spree:-
"Last Saturday's result against Queen of the South was great. Now that we have our league tied up, the first result I look out for is Dunfermline's, the second Raith's just to see how they have been getting on.. Given the importance of the game to both clubs, hopefully Dunfermline can put a performance in like they did last week."
26 year old Wullie still keeps in close contact with the Pars players that he started the season off with and warned that when playing in front of a large crowd with a great atmosphere, it is about what the players do on the day.
"I made a lot of friends at Dunfermline, you still keep in touch with the boys and I will not be in England for the rest of my life so friends in football are good to have. I know that the boys will prepare right; they are professional. The training has always been good at Dunfermline and the focus will be on Saturday. Current form goes out the window in such a big game and both clubs know how crucial it is if Dunfermline win.
"There are always ifs buts and maybes and so they must take care of this game before they look at any other games. The boys will be up for it; they have brought in a few players who obviously have been doing well. Martin Hardie has been great since he arrived but Kevin Rutkiewicz is suspended, that's a shame, but that just gives someone else the chance. They have the players to do it and I wish them all the very best.".
