Liam Buchanan Post Cowdenbeath
Saturday, 2nd Apr 2011"We don't have a game next week so the boys will rest up and get back in training and look forward to the next again match."
Liam Buchanan's fifth goal in 13 appearances for Dunfermline could well prove vitally important when the points are totalled at the end of the season. His brave finish on the hour gave the Pars a 1-0 victory. He complained after the game about how the very poor pitch had contributed to the lack of chances:-
"It was one of those games where there wasn't a lot of chances, the condition of the pitch didn't help much. But it is all about grinding out results at this stage in the season.
"It was not easy but at the end of the day, it is the same for both teams. You have got to come here and not let it affect you; you have still got a result. Cowdenbeath are on a good run at the moment - they have won at Partick, drew with Dundee and drew with Falkirk so they were no mugs and we knew that it was going to be a hard game. The boys attitude and composure they showed on the ball was different class.
"It is important that we win every game now and we just need to fight away until the end."
That end is only four games away now but the 26 year old striker described them as cup finals:-
"We know that we have a lot to do but we will take each game as it comes. We don't have a game next week so the boys will rest up and get back in training and look forward to the next again match."
So is it good to have a break of two weeks or would the players like to just keep on playing?
"The game that we might have played we went and won on Tuesday night. You have got to stay positive about things and maybe give the boys a wee chance because we have had a lot of games in March. We can rest up and go again for the last four matches."
