Dunfermline's Goalies Have Their Beady Eyes On The Ball
Tuesday, 22nd Mar 2011Dunfermline Athletic F.C. helps open the new Asda opticians
Dunfermline Athletic F.C's goalkeepers certainly have their beady-eyes on the ball, after popping into Asda Dunfermline today to help unveil the new in-store Asda Opticians.
Sailing through the larger letters and hitting the smaller ones one after another, Chris Smith and Greg Paterson, joined the Asda Dunfermline optical team as they officially opened the department. Keeping an eye on the ball is the name of their game, so the new optical department is perfect for checking the players' eyes are in tip-top shape.
Speaking about the opening, Dunfermline Athletic F.C's goalkeeper, Chris Smith comments: "It's great that Asda has added this new and invaluable service to its Dunfermline store. The colleagues here at Asda Dunfermline are extremely friendly and welcoming, which makes looking after your eyes feel more like a joy than a chore."
There is a huge variety of designer brand glasses, such as Jigsaw, Lambretta and Stepper, all available at their complete price which includes frames and lenses, anti-reflective coating and scratch resistant coating, and even thinner lenses depending on your prescription.. Asda Opticians also offers customers a wide selection of contact lenses and solutions. With daily disposables, 2 week disposables, monthly disposables, extended wear lenses, and even multifocal lenses, there is a contact-lens option to suit every customer.
Graham Mackenzie, Optical manager at Asda Dunfermline comments: "The arrival of the opticians is great news for Dunfermline. Getting your eyes checked can sometimes be pushed to the bottom of the to-do-list of a busy schedule. But booking regular appointments has never been more important, with the majority of the population now working in front of a computer from 9am-5pm.
"Just because you're not squinting, doesn't mean your eye-sight is 100%. Underlying illnesses, such as glaucoma, can often go unnoticed and a simple trip to the opticians can help identify them, before serious damage is caused."
What makes the new Asda Dunfermline's Opticians even more accessible is the evening opening hours and the flexibility of the colleagues. The department also dispenses external prescriptions. Simply take your prescription into the store and order your glasses or, if you don't have it to hand, the optical colleagues will contact your opticians to find out your current prescription.
Asda Dunfermline's new optical department also offers free NHS eye-tests for anyone under the age of 16 or over the age of 60. Plus all children's glasses are free with the NHS voucher.
The new Asda Dunfermline optical department will be open for testing from 9am-7pm Monday to Wednesday, 9am-8pm Thursday, 9am-7pm Friday and Saturday, and 10am-6pm on a Sunday. Customers will be able to browse the department from 11-5pm Sunday, 9am-8pm Monday to Wednesday. With its evening opening for both browsing and testing, the new opticians will be ideal for those customers with busy day-time schedules.
