Ryan Thomson has signed a new deal that will keep him at the Club for another two years. He was pleased with the chance since that was his objective:-
"It's what I hoped for at the beginning of the season. I have had a wee chance now so hopefully I can build on it in the future. This month is a big month so hopefully we can do well and get what's needed. There are a lot of games yet so the Manager will need a lot of bodies and hopefully I can contribute to that."
Ryan who will be 20 next month, wants to improve and reward the Manager for having faith in him. Asked who was the guiding influence on him, Ryan said that he travelled in with Austin McCann, Burkie, Dougall and Martin Hardie, so had to give them a special mention!!
Manager Jim McIntyre commented on the decision to offer Ryan a new contract:-
"Ryan has progressed. He's done well when he has been called upon and we feel that he is a big part of the future here along with Paul (Willis).Jordan (White) has progressed as well and hopefully he can get games playing for Dumbarton. We will have him watched and see how he does."
A product of the Youth Initiative at Dunfermline Ryan has been with the Club since U15 level and has just recently been given starts for the first team. Morton Preview
