AGM announcement and accounts released
Tuesday, 8th Feb 2011AGM will be held on 21st February 2010
Dunfermline Athletic Football Club has now issued its financial results for the season 2009/10 to all of its Shareholders in advance of our Annual General Meeting to be held on Monday 21st February 2011.
William Hodgins, Chief Executive said
"The loss to 31st May 2010 was disappointing and resulted entirely from reduced turnover as the Club like many others in Scotland encountered the "perfect storm" with challenging economic conditions that effected match attendances and commercial income, coupled with the harshest winter for decades".
"On a much more positive note the Club has addressed its cost base since May 2010 and we are forecasting a breakeven position to May 2011. This has been achieved by rationalisation across all aspects of the business, however we have still been able to provide a title challenging budget for the First Team and promotion is well within our reach".
John Yorkston, Chairman said
"At time of writing, the First Team have progressed through to the Fifth Round of the Scottish Cup to meet Aberdeen and we wish Jim McIntyre and his squad the very best in their endeavours to take Dunfermline Athletic Football Club to the quarter-final stage.
Despite the difficult economic conditions, the Club is investing in its Pitreavie training and 5-a-side facility with the replacement of the existing pitches and we also intend to install a full-size 3G artificial pitch in the early part of the summer.
We would also like to take this opportunity on behalf of the Board to thank everyone for their support during a difficult period and we remain committed as ever to re-establishing our place in the top flight of Scottish football. "
