Wullie Gibson Post Cowden
Monday, 20th Sep 2010"There was a lot of spirit between the boys. We dug in when it was hard and up until the equaliser I thought we were knocking on the door.
Based on their first half performance against Cowdenbeath, Pars midfielder Wullie Gibson felt at half time on Saturday that he and his team mates had been a major disappointment to themselves :-
"We tried to regroup at half time and the pressure we put on them in the second half told on them in the end.
"The games we lost last year came after going well but then we would play the likes of Ayr United at home and lose 1-0. When Cowdenbeath scored we thought 'not again'.
"There was a lot of spirit between the boys. We dug in when it was hard and up until the equaliser I thought we were knocking on the door. Then when we did score the first one, we knew that we could get another one. We felt the fans frustrations as well, which sometimes can be hard on the players but we knew ourselves that we had to be a lot better. We proved that we were the better team and deserved the points in the end."
