Buchanan's Goal
Friday, 21st Jan 2011"I scored a few against Dunfermline; they were a team I liked to play against and get a goal or two .. I'm looking forward to impressing the Dunfermline fans.
Liam Buchanan claimed that the way Manager Jim McIntyre wants to play football was the thing that attracted him to Dunfermline:-
"Everytime I have played against them I have been impressed by a young hungry manager who is looking to go forward. Hopefully I can help his development and he can develop me as a player. It is nice to be back in Fife. I found out a couple of weeks ago that the chance to come here was on the horizon, but only yesterday did it become a definite.
"I am hoping to bring goals to the team and my work rate as well will open spaces for other players to get goalscoring chances."
Liam laughed when it was pointed out that he had a habit of scoring against Dunfermline:-
"Yes, I scored a few against Dunfermline; they were a team I liked to play against and get a goal or two. I am looking forward to being part of the way Dunfermline play. There are some talented players here; Gibson, Graham, McDougall and Cardle as well get wide and get crosses in the box. Hopefully I can myself on the end of some of them and score my fair share of goals."
At Dunfermline Liam is re-united with former Cowden team mate, Pat Clarke:-
"We did well at Cowdenbeath together so it's good to see him again. Dunfermline are in a good position to push on and get promoted, that was a major attraction as well. I'm delighted to be here. The fans were great to me at Thistle but this is a new chapter and I'm looking forward to impressing the Dunfermline fans."
Buchanan scored two goals against Stirling Albion last Saturday and weather permitting they will be his opponents against this Saturday although, with the game in serious doubt due to the frosty weather, Buchanan and the rest of the Pars players could find themselves training at Pitreavie on Saturday instead.
" If it doesn't go ahead then next Saturday we are at Partick so that will be an interesting start and I'm sure I'll get a nice welcome."
