A statement from Fife Police reads, "Police in Dunfermline have today confirmed that two men have been arrested following a break-in at the Dunfermline Academy of Sport, Queensferry Road, Dunfermline, the training ground of Dunfermline Athletic Football Club.
Police were alerted to the break-in at 11.35pm last night (Sunday 16th January) by the activation of the alarm. Offices attended and ascertained that the premises had been violated and that money had been stolen.
Two men aged 45 and 42 years respectively, from the Carluke area, were subsequently traced and arrested and both are to appear from custody at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Tuesday 18th January."
DAFC apologises for any disruption caused as a result of this attack on this much used community facility.
Due to the break in, leaving the phone lines cut, our training base and Pars in the Community are not contactable via phone or email. This affects phone numbers 01383 730730 and 01383 742746 and all relevant email addresses.
DAFC are currently working to resolve this issue. Meanwhile, all enquiries for pitch and function room hire, and Pars in the Community classes should be made to East End Park on 01383 724295 or sales@dafc.co.uk and your message shall be passed onto our Academy team or Community.
