Goalscoring Woods
Thursday, 23rd Dec 2010Woods perfect ten as he gets the ton up for league appearances
Dunfermline's strikers have rightly been praised for their contributions this season. Andy Kirk showed amazing early season goalscoring form, Wullie Gibson threw in a few spectacular goals and Pat Clarke has begun to show his confidence in front of goal too.
However, when it comes to goals from defenders, Dunfermline players have sadly lacked that goalscoring instinct for quite a long time really. Ozzie McCann has yet to trouble the opposition goal after almost 100 Pars appearances, while the same is true of Andy Dowie, Neil McGregor and Alex Keddie - not a solitary goal between the lot of the them. The one exception to this trend has been Pars right back Calum Woods.
Calum Woods celebrates goal at Ibrox
Against Raith Rovers, Calum scored his third goal of the season and a pretty good one it was too! That takes the Liverpudlian's total to 10 in his Pars career which is a decent return indeed. We'd like to say a big well done to Calum who played his 100th league game for Dunfermline against Queen of the South on 11th December.
