Manager on Saturday morning
Saturday, 11th Dec 201011/11/10:- "Everybody is itching to play and the lads have been desperate for the game to be on.
Jim McIntyre is hugely appreciative of the major effort made this week to make sure the match against Queen of the South at East End Park goes ahead.
"Everybody is itching to play and the lads have been desperate for the game to be on. I would like to thank all those who have helped clear the ground. Director Rodney Shearer has been extremely helpful and it's doubtful if we would have got this far had it not been for his men and machines. The real heroes are the ground staff, Kevin and Willie and Stadium Manager Kenny Arnott but they have been assisted by the fantastic input from fans and DAFC staff. Everyone has pulled together magnificently."
On Friday afternoon the team trained at Hamilton, that has become virtually their new headquarters during the wintry conditions. They used Ravenscraig in midweek where they had a training game against Motherwell:-
"It was just 30 minutes each way with the goalposts brought in to the 18 yard lines but at least the players got up a good sweat."
Macca revealed that midfielder Alex Burke has had a re-occurence of his calf injury and will be out for a week to ten days. Otherwise the Manager has a full squad to choose from, with the exception of Neil McGregor who serves a one match suspension for his red card in the last match versus Raith Rovers.
With the Rovers game at Stirling postponed Jim McIntyre added:-
"We have a chance to go top today. The next month is an important period and even more so if we can keep up our home record. But for now we are totally focussed on the Queen of the South game today. Both teams will be rusty and the team who adapts to that and the conditions is going to come out on top. We are raring to go."
