"Obviously from now until the end of the season our aim now is to finish second.

Jonathan Page's first game for Dunfermline was against East Fife back in February and he is hoping that Saturday's match will complete a double for him over them. A result over Gary Naysmith's Methil team would be very welcome after the Pars have struggled to take just one point from the last nine. The central defender expressed his team's feelings:-

"Obviously we're disappointed not to have picked up more points in the last few games but we feel certainly last week and the week before we should have taken more than we did. We've obviously got to try and get that right on Saturday.

"I thought we put up a good fight against Rangers and as a team we were pleased with the way we played. We thought for good periods of the game we were the better team and we really didn't deserve to lose the game. That's what the big teams do, and that's what we need to learn to do - to turn possession into goals and wins.

"Obviously from now until the end of the season our aim now is to finish second. But irrespective of that, we'd be looking to win as many games as we could anyway from now until the end of the season so nothing really changes now Rangers have won the league."

After seven weeks as a Par Jonathan revealed that he is certainly enjoying life at Dunfermline and that he certainly would be happy to stay a good while longer:-

"It's a young group of lads but everybody is very welcoming and it's good. When I first came in we got a good few wins which is always helpful when you come into a new team, so I'm pleased. From my point of view, I'd be delighted if I can stay here but obviously lots of things will come into account I'm sure.

"There's lots to learn from the senior players too. Obviously Danny Grainger is here, he's got great experience and he's great to play alongside and learn from. The young boys are enthusiastic, they come in every day and work their socks off, and the energy they have is great."

Of the January window signings Jonathan was reminded that he is the only one yet to score a goal:-

"I'm well aware of that" he replied "It's been a long time since I scored my last goal I think, and I had been on a good run until about a year ago. My next one will be my 10th senior goal so when it comes along it will be special."

The last Jonathan Page goal was for Hamilton Accies against Cowdenbeath on 12th January last year, but the team that he got off the mark against, scoring twice for Stirling Albion four years ago now was - East Fife, so fingers crossed for Saturday.

"I'm sure East Fife will be looking for a reaction after losing 5-0 last week, although honestly I don't know how they'll be on Saturday. We can only concentrate on ourselves which is what we'll do. We've got to make sure we're right for Saturday."
