Inter Schools Penalty Kick competition

St Columbas High School beat Dunfermline High School 5-2 in the final of the 2013-2014 Inter Schools Penalty Kick competition. The final took place at half time during the game between Dunfermline Athletic v Stenhousemuir on Saturday 8 March.
St Columbas were presented with the trophy and all the other schools who participated presented with a certificate for taking part in the competition.
St Columba's knocked out Inverkeithing in the semi final and in the final their penalty takers were Declan Boyle and Declan Wilson, their goalkeeper Nathan Harkin. Dunfermline High School were represented by Scott Russell, Quinn Franklin and goalkeeper, Ross Wright knocked out both Queen Anne High and Woodmill High on their way to the final.
The Schools penalty kick competition has been a keen contest with six of the local high schools entering. It is an initiative that is fully supported by Interim Chairman Bob Garmory who said:-
"It has captured the interest of our fans as the two teams have shot it out at half time in our last six home matches. On behalf of the club I would like to thank the schools, the referees and our co-ordinator Christine Scott for making all this possible.
"We view engagement with schools and our younger supporters as vitally important in creating a vibrant football club that is sustainable in the longer term. This is the first of many initiatives that will be undertaken by the club to enhance our links with local schools."
