DAFC are delighted to announce that Ryan Wallace has signed today an extended contract to 31 May 2016. Ryan's current deal was due to expire at the end of this current season. This is another positive development and follows hard on the heels of Ryan Williamson, Lewis Martin and Shaun Byrne signing extended deals.Ryan is pictured below with Manager, Jim Jefferies at East End Park this afternoon putting pen to paper.
DAFC Chairman, Bob Garmory stated "this is further evidence that the interim Board continue to support Jim Jefferies to try and secure the future of our existing young squad. To be fair, we are only able to do this at present due to the success of the Centenary Club Lifeline. It is this regular monthly income coming into the Club which allows commitments to be made to our talented young players, such as Ryan."
A delighted Jim Jefferies commented "this is another really positive step towards keeping our talented young squad together, thanks to the efforts of the supporters via the Centenary Club Lifeline . Ryan has played in a variety of different positions this season to assist the team formation, but is still our top goal scorer. It is clearly evident that Ryan in the last 3 to 4 months is now working harder on the field, closing play down as well as creating a number of assists for his team mates.
"As I said last week with Shaun Byrne, I commend Ryan for making an early decision on his future as it now allows him to be entirely focussed on his game without any another distractions. He is a key player at the Club now, and his commitment will help us all where we want to be. We hope other players will now follow their lead and commit their future to our Club."
Ryan himself was pleased that he has now put pen to paper, and can focus on his football and help the team achieve promotion. Further reaction from Ryan will appear on the Club website in the next few days.
