Opening in defence

Callum Morris is hoping to be back in action this Saturday after missing four games over the last month. He has been out with an Achilles injury since the league match at Ayr on 14th December. He told the media:-
"I am back in training and I am looking forward to getting back involved. It has been three or four weeks now watching from the sidelines but on the flip side the young lads who have come in have done well. These are the positives but personally it has been frustrating.
"You want to play every game and there have been a few big games. Luckily enough, apart from the Rangers game we have got all the right results. I can't really complain.
"Kerr and Lewis have been doing well but big Kerr is suspended this weekend so there might be a little opening for us" he joked.
"That is what we want, we want competition. Everyone is working hard and fighting for their place; that can only be a good thing for the squad. I just need to make sure that I am fit and ready for selection."
Callum's Achilles problem was an innocuous training ground injury:-
"I just felt something but when I went in I didn't think it was too bad. I got a scan and there was a little tear. You just have to be careful with it because it is an awkward area near my calf. It has been a niggly one but it seems fine at the minute."
The centre half who will be 24 next month did not take part in Tuesday's bounce game against Falkirk since it was played on astro but is keen to return to the team and help lift hopefully another three points.
"You just have to take them as they come I suppose and keep our run going. We want to distance ourselves from the teams below us and go out there with the same mindset as we have had for the last few games."
