Sunday, 12th Jan 2014Supporters Shop goes from strength to strength
The roaring success of the Supporters Shop set up by Marvyn Stewart in association with the Dunfermline Athletic Supporters Club continues. Pars supporters have backed Marvyn's vision of a shop where all sorts of Pars goodies donated by fellow fans, can be resold to supporters to raise money for DAFC. "Marv's Emporium" as it is affectionately known, now has two separate locations at East End Park such is the level of stock of strips, programmes, photographs, hats etc.
A further significant milestone was reached at Christmas when Marvyn's fund raising reached an amazing £20,000 in total. A cheque for £10,000 was handed over by Marvyn to DAFC Chairman, Bob Garmory at Saturday's game against Stranraer. This follows a previous cheque handed to DAFC by Marvyn in October. Ross McArthur, General Manager stated:-
"Everyone at DAFC sees the hard work, determination and enthusiasm shown by Marvyn most days of the week which is inspirational and I am continually amazed by the items that are donated to the Shop. Once one target is reached, Marvyn then just sets herself the next one. The affection people have for our Football Club is clearly demonstrated by the success of Marvyn's shop."

Marvyn added:-
"I am finding running the shop quite humbling. I have always been available to help the Club, and I am so grateful that Ross and others have given me the chance. Seeing how the fans appreciate what is being done, is superb. It is important that everyone also remembers all of the helpers, too many to name, but I do not let their help go unnoticed."
