Macca's New Year Message
Sunday, 1st Jan 2012Jim McIntyre looks ahead to 2012 and asks everybody to "keep the faith".
At the start of 2012, Dunfermline Manager Jim McIntyre has one forceful message for Pars fans everywhere:-
"Keep the faith. We have a group of players who we believe can get results in the Premier League. We know that not having won at home is a real bug bear for everyone but if we can add one or two to the good players that we have, then I am more than confident that we can have a better second half to the season."
Dunfermline Athletic started 2011 with a four point advantage at the top of the First Division, they start 2012 at the foot of the SPL but the Manager is very clear where he wants to be at this time next year:-
"Still in the Premier League and higher up the table. I do not think that is an unrealistic goal. This season was always going to be about survival and staying up."
After starting the year in the stand at Starks Park because he was serving a ban, then sent off at Rugby Park and hauled up before the SFA Disciplinary Tribunal for comments made about referee Steve Conroy at Ibrox, will Jim McIntyre promise to behave better in 2012? Macca produced a broad grin to answer:-
"I will definitely try to. I am a passionate person, I wear my heart on my sleeve but that is just the way I am but I am trying to curb that enthusiasm and passion to make make sure that I am minding my manners in front of the officials."
