Jim McIntyre says basic defending errors, particularly from set pieces, was key to the defeat at Tynecastle. Jim says:-
"We shot ourselves in the foot again. We came here with a game plan and it was out of the window after one minute when we lost the goal. To lose a goal in the first minute is just ridiculous - almost as ridiculous as the defending was - and until we stop that we're going to struggle to win matches.
The first goal came when Ian Black's corner kick found Ryan McGowan who mis-hit his shot but Stephen Elliott got to it up from two yards and put it in the net. Jim added,:-
"Our inability to deal with set plays was a real problem and apart from the first goal Hearts still got far too many free headers in the first half and that's down to concentration levels.
The second goal game just before the half hour mark when Ryan Stevenson ran into the box and passed to Mehdi Taouil who managed to get the ball past Gallacher despite appearing to fumble the shot. Macca said:-
"He's wrong footed Paul Gallacher and the ball has gone in. It should have been closed down and it should have been blocked; it wasn't and we were too late dealing with it and we've been punished again".
Goals from David Templeton twenty minutes from time and substitute Rudi Skacel deep into injury time compounded the Pars misery:-
"All the players who are involved with incidents that shouldn't happen come into the dressing room and put their hands up and apologise. But sometimes sorry isn't good enough, particularly when it keeps happening. If it keeps happening we'll have to change things, it's as simple as that."
