Supporters Council go to Kelty
Thursday, 17th Apr 2014Supporters Council announce open meeting at the Moray Institute in Kelty on Tuesday 22nd April
As part of the ongoing drive to re-establish connections between the Club and the wider community, the DAFC Supporters' Council will be holding the second of its local meetings at the Moray Institute, Kelty on Tuesday, 22nd April, starting at 7pm in the Retired Miners Welfare Room.
This meeting is intended to give supporters in the central Fife area the chance to come along and find out more about the Supporters' Council, and also about the vision for the future of the Club, "straight from the horse's mouth".
There is also a hope that a new Supporters' Club can be created out of this, to cater for the needs of fans in the area.
Club Chairman Bob Garmory will be in attendance, to give an insight as to where the Club is at presently, and also the vision for the future. He will be joined by Donald Adamson (first chairman of the Supporters' Council) and Ross McArthur (General Manager).
Joe Graham will then discuss the concept of the Supporters' Council, the role of Club Ambassadors and how this fits into the new governance structure for the Club.
Jim Leishman, Club Director and Provost of Fife, will host a Players' Q&A session, and the players attending will be Stephen Husband, Danny Grainger, Shaun Byrne and Ryan Williamson (subject to availability).
We are also delighted to welcome along Marvyn Stewart and Kenny Cowan. Kenny was a pivotal figure in the setting up and running of the Kelty Supporters Club for many years (which went on to become the official DASC as it is currently known). Kenny will discuss the history behind the Supporters' Club, which will hopefully lead on to the discussion regarding the creation of a new Group.
Having been involved with DASC for many years, Marvyn continues to be a driving force behind the fans' involvement in our Club, and has played a hugely important role in the success of the Pars United movement.
We look forward to seeing you all there.
